Educational School Tours

Our school program offers an exciting, fun, and educational experience for children from junior kindergarten to grade 3. Students are given a short educational presentation, taken on a wagon ride tour of the farm and then to the patch to pick their own pumpkin.

The tour correlates with the new Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum with the following expectations presented, based on the grade/age level:

a)       Opportunity to explore, observe the surrounding and classify characteristics of plants using the 5 senses

b)      Investigate the characteristics and needs of plants

c)       Demonstrate awareness that plants depends on their environment to meet their basic needs

d)      Compare the basic needs of humans to other living things (pumpkins)

e)      Describe using their observations the effects of the season on plants (seed-little plant-bigger plant with lots of leaves-flowers formed-fruit produces-harvest and dieing of leaves and plant.

f)         Farm safety issues
